Responsibility
- Perform microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Prepare and sterilize laboratory equipment, media, and tools according to established protocols.
- Document and report test results accurately, flagging any non-conforming samples to the Microbiology Foreman for immediate action.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and adhere to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Calibrate and operate laboratory instruments, ensuring they meet performance and accuracy requirements.
- Assist in the development and validation of new testing methodologies to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve quality-related issues.
- Stay updated on industry standards, regulatory changes, and emerging microbiological techniques.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Food Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a microbiology laboratory, preferably in the food, beverage, or pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong knowledge of microbiological testing methods (e.g., plate counting, PCR, ELISA).
- Familiarity with ISO 17025, HACCP, GMP, and FDA/FSMA regulations is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow strict standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Proficient in using laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high accuracy and efficiency.
