Join RCBC Credit as a Merchant Business Development Associate and play a pivotal role in expanding our digital payment ecosystem in Cebu! This dynamic position focuses on onboarding New-to-Bank (NTB) merchants for our cutting-edge P2M (Person-to-Merchant) and e-wallet solutions, driving financial inclusion for small enterprises across Central Visayas.

As a key contributor to our merchant acquisition strategy, you will identify, engage, and affiliate businesses that align with our mission of empowering SMEs through seamless digital transactions. Your efforts will directly impact the growth of RCBC’s merchant network, enhancing accessibility to modern payment solutions for underserved communities.

This is a full-time, field-based role in Cebu, offering a unique opportunity to combine sales expertise with business development in the fast-evolving fintech landscape. Responsibility

  • Identify and onboard New-to-Bank (NTB) merchants for P2M, e-wallet, and other digital payment products in assigned territories.
  • Develop and execute merchant acquisition strategies to meet monthly and quarterly targets for small enterprise segments.
  • Conduct market research to identify high-potential merchant clusters and emerging business hubs in Cebu and Central Visayas.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants, providing training and support on RCBC’s payment solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Marketing, Product, Operations) to ensure seamless merchant onboarding and activation.
  • Monitor merchant performance, address concerns, and implement retention strategies to minimize disaffiliation.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on merchant acquisition progress, challenges, and market insights.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes affecting digital payments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or related fields.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in sales, business development, or merchant acquisition (preferably in banking/fintech).
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a field-based role.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to engage diverse merchant profiles.
  • Strong understanding of digital payments, e-wallets, and SME financial needs.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Cebu and nearby provinces (own vehicle is a plus).
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and mobile banking apps.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
