Responsibility
- Assign accurate medical codes to patient diagnoses, procedures, and treatments using standardized coding systems (e.g., ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information in accordance with data protection regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Assist in auditing medical records to identify and correct coding errors or inconsistencies.
- Prepare and submit coded data for billing, reimbursement, and statistical purposes.
- Participate in training sessions and continuous education programs to enhance coding skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Medical Technology, Nursing, or a related field.
