The Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Media & Editorial Administrative Assistant to join our team on a contract basis. This role offers the unique opportunity to work remotely from the vibrant locations of Bali, Indonesia, including Canggu, Ubud, Denpasar, and more.
As a key member of our external communications team, you will play a pivotal role in developing, managing, and refining high-quality content and media materials to support SSM’s media relations and public engagement efforts. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing the organization’s visibility, reputation, and stakeholder communication across various platforms.

Responsibility
- Develop, edit, and proofread press releases, articles, and media kits to ensure alignment with SSM’s brand voice and messaging.
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather and synthesize information for external communication materials.
- Manage and update media databases and contact lists to facilitate effective outreach and relationship-building.
- Assist in planning and executing media campaigns and events, including logistics and follow-up communications.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage and public sentiment to provide insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare and distribute internal reports and briefings on media activities and performance metrics.
- Liaise with external vendors, such as designers and translators, to produce high-quality multimedia content.
- Maintain organized records of all editorial and media-related documents for easy retrieval and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in media relations, editorial work, or administrative support within a corporate or government setting.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and content management systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Experience in media monitoring tools (e.g., Meltwater, Cision) is a plus.
- Familiarity with AP Style or other editorial guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting, with reliable internet access.
