Responsibility

  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety protocols and procedures for mechanical systems and equipment in mining operations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues and recommend mitigating actions.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations, including OSHA, ISO, and industry-specific standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to design and maintain safe mechanical systems, including machinery, tools, and infrastructure.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, prepare detailed reports, and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on safety best practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of mechanical equipment.
  • Inspect and audit mechanical equipment and facilities to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
  • Stay updated on emerging safety technologies and industry trends to continuously improve safety measures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CSP, PE) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical safety engineering, preferably in the mining, construction, or heavy industry sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and compliance requirements (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
  • Proven experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to effectively convey safety concerns and solutions.
  • Proficiency in using safety management software, CAD tools, and data analysis applications.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-risk environments while maintaining a focus on safety and precision.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Indonesian (Bahasa) is an advantage.
