Responsibility
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety protocols and procedures for mechanical systems and equipment in mining operations.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues and recommend mitigating actions.
- Ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations, including OSHA, ISO, and industry-specific standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to design and maintain safe mechanical systems, including machinery, tools, and infrastructure.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, prepare detailed reports, and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on safety best practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of mechanical equipment.
- Inspect and audit mechanical equipment and facilities to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
- Stay updated on emerging safety technologies and industry trends to continuously improve safety measures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CSP, PE) are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical safety engineering, preferably in the mining, construction, or heavy industry sectors.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and compliance requirements (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
- Proven experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to effectively convey safety concerns and solutions.
- Proficiency in using safety management software, CAD tools, and data analysis applications.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-risk environments while maintaining a focus on safety and precision.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Indonesian (Bahasa) is an advantage.
