Responsibility
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical equipment, including conveyors, pumps, motors, and processing machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and prevent equipment failures.
- Install new mechanical components, systems, or machinery in accordance with technical specifications and safety protocols.
- Conduct preventive maintenance schedules to extend the lifespan of equipment and reduce the risk of unexpected breakdowns.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and develop long-term solutions.
- Adhere to all workplace safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts replacements for audit and reference purposes.
- Assist in the training of junior technicians and provide guidance on best practices for mechanical maintenance.
Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma or Vocational Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Fitting & Machining, or a related field.
- Proven experience (2+ years) as a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Technician, or Mill Mechanic, preferably in the palm oil, agricultural, or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic components, and industrial machinery.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Hands-on skills in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces, heights, and noisy conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet production deadlines.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety standards (OSHA or equivalent) and environmental regulations.
