Responsibility
- Prepare detailed mechanical cost estimates for construction projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, using industry-standard software and methodologies.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and BOQs to identify mechanical requirements and quantify materials, labor, and equipment costs.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to validate estimates and align on budget constraints.
- Develop and maintain a database of cost benchmarks for mechanical components to improve accuracy and efficiency in future bids.
- Conduct risk assessments on mechanical systems and propose cost-saving alternatives without compromising quality or compliance.
- Participate in bid presentations and negotiations with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to secure project awards.
- Monitor project expenditures against estimates and provide regular reports to management on variances and adjustments.
- Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and regulatory changes affecting mechanical installations in Indonesia.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in mechanical estimation, cost engineering, or quantity surveying within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or Primavera) and Microsoft Excel for complex calculations.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, ductwork) and local building codes in Indonesia.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Fluent in English and Indonesian (written and verbal) for effective communication with international and local stakeholders.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
