Responsibility
- Design and develop mechanical systems and components for steel plant facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical analyses to evaluate the performance and efficiency of existing mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, project managers, and operations staff, to implement improvements and expansions.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports using CAD software and other engineering tools.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues, proposing innovative solutions to enhance system reliability and reduce downtime.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of mechanical systems, recommending upgrades or modifications as needed.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and apply best practices to improve facility operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the steel or heavy industry sector.
- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and other engineering design tools.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and thermodynamics.
- Experience with project management, including planning, execution, and monitoring of engineering projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as ISO, ASME, and local safety codes.
