job description

Join Armor Metal Precision Sdn Bhd, a leader in precision engineering and advanced manufacturing, as our Mechanical Design & Simulation Engineer specializing in progressive stamping dies and thermal component solutions. Based in the vibrant tech hub of Bali, Indonesia (with remote/hybrid flexibility), you’ll play a pivotal role in designing cutting-edge stamping dies and optimizing thermal management systems for high-performance applications.

In this role, you’ll lead Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/A) initiatives, ensuring sub-micron precision for critical components like Integrated Heat Spreaders (IHS). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline process flows, enhance product reliability, and drive innovation in thermal management solutions. Your expertise will directly impact the efficiency and quality of our manufacturing processes, making this an ideal opportunity for a detail-oriented engineer with a passion for precision and problem-solving.

We offer a dynamic work environment, competitive compensation, and opportunities for professional growth in a globally expanding company. If you thrive in a fast-paced, innovative setting and want to shape the future of precision engineering, we’d love to hear from you!

Responsibility

  • Design and develop progressive stamping dies for high-precision thermal components, ensuring adherence to sub-micron tolerances.
  • Lead Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/A) initiatives to optimize production efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Production, Quality) to refine process flows and improve product performance.
  • Conduct simulations and finite element analysis (FEA) to validate designs and predict thermal/mechanical behavior.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and manufacturing guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues in production, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum yield.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in stamping die design and thermal management.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to support team development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, stamping die development, or thermal component engineering.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent) and simulation tools (ANSYS, COMSOL, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of DFM/A principles, GD&T, and manufacturing processes (stamping, machining, assembly).
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulation for precision components.
  • Familiarity with metallurgy, material selection, and heat treatment processes for thermal applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on sub-micron precision.
  • Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate in a multicultural team.
