Responsibility
- Design and draft detailed technical drawings for tools, jigs, fixtures, and mechanical assemblies using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Fusion 360).
- Develop and optimize precision engineering solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency, accuracy, and safety.
- Collaborate with production teams to assess design feasibility, identify potential issues, and implement cost-effective modifications.
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and stress simulations to validate design integrity under operational loads.
- Create and maintain BOMs (Bill of Materials) and technical documentation for all designed components.
- Prototype and test new designs, iterating based on performance data and feedback from stakeholders.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging materials, and advanced manufacturing techniques to drive innovation.
- Ensure all designs comply with ISO, ASME, or other relevant standards for precision engineering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design, tooling, or fixture development, preferably in precision engineering or manufacturing.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) and CAM tools for prototyping.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and machining processes (CNC, milling, turning).
- Experience with FEA software (ANSYS, SOLIDWORKS Simulation) for structural analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot design flaws under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and DFM (Design for Manufacturability).
- Strong communication skills in English to liaise with international teams and clients.
