Responsibility
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance, repairs, and servicing of marine engines, propulsion systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic components for yachts, commercial vessels, and marine infrastructure.
- Conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT) and field commissioning to ensure systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Install, troubleshoot, and upgrade marine equipment, including navigation systems, generators, pumps, and control panels.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to diagnose technical issues, provide solutions, and ensure timely project completion.
- Assist in field construction and plant commissioning projects, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and safety protocols.
- Prepare detailed reports, documentation, and service logs for all maintenance, repair, and installation activities.
- Provide on-site technical support and training to clients and crew members on the operation and maintenance of marine systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Marine Service Technician, Marine Mechanic, or similar role in the marine industry.
- Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining marine engines (e.g., diesel, outboard, inboard), propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment.
- Hands-on experience with electrical systems, including wiring, circuit testing, and troubleshooting of marine electronics (e.g., navigation, communication, and automation systems).
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems, pumps, and control panels used in marine applications.
- Strong understanding of marine industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols (e.g., SOLAS, IMO, classification society requirements).
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in challenging environments, including confined spaces, heights, and offshore conditions.
- Valid certifications such as STCW, ENG1, or equivalent are a plus.
