Responsibility
- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on Yanmar and Mitsubishi marine engines and propulsion systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on tugboat mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve engine failures, fuel system issues, and cooling system malfunctions efficiently.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and technical reports for management, documenting all maintenance and repair activities.
- Collaborate with the crew and engineering team to plan and execute scheduled dry-dock maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with maritime safety regulations and company operational standards.
- Operate and test tugboat systems post-repair to verify functionality and seaworthiness.
- Manage inventory of spare parts and tools, and recommend procurement as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (3+ years) as a Marine Mechanic or Tugboat Engineer, with expertise in Yanmar and Mitsubishi engines.
- Certification in marine diesel engine repair (e.g., Yanmar/Mitsubishi training) is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, gearboxes, and propulsion mechanics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Familiarity with maritime safety protocols (e.g., SOLAS, ISM Code) and Indonesian maritime regulations.
- Physical fitness to work in confined spaces, on deck, or in engine rooms under varying weather conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Fluency in English or Bahasa Indonesia; multilingual candidates are preferred.
