Responsibility
- Perform diagnostic tests on heavy equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues.
- Conduct preventive maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication to extend equipment lifespan.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems.
- Inspect equipment for safety compliance and ensure adherence to industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all repairs and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.
- Operate heavy equipment as needed to verify repairs and ensure proper functionality.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies in heavy equipment maintenance.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or in a similar role.
- Proven expertise in repairing and maintaining excavators, bulldozers, loaders, or similar machinery.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Certification in heavy equipment mechanics (e.g., Komatsu, Caterpillar, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to lift heavy parts and work in various environmental conditions.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and OSHA standards for heavy equipment.
