Responsibility
- Supervise and coordinate daily motor pool operations, ensuring timely and efficient fleet maintenance and repairs.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend vehicle lifespan.
- Oversee inventory management of spare parts, tools, and equipment, ensuring optimal stock levels and cost control.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with local and company safety regulations.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate drivers and maintenance staff to enhance skills and productivity.
- Monitor and report on maintenance activities, including work orders, expenses, and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align maintenance operations with organizational goals.
- Respond to emergency repairs and operational issues with swift, effective solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance, motor pool management, or a similar supervisory role.
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle mechanics, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team of technicians and drivers.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, and local transportation regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
