Responsibility
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages, including espresso, pour-over, cold brew, and specialty drinks, adhering to exacting standards of taste and presentation.
- Engage warmly with customers, providing personalized recommendations and ensuring a memorable, luxury café experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace, including equipment calibration, inventory management, and adherence to food safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and refine seasonal drink menus, incorporating local flavors and innovative techniques.
- Educate customers on coffee origins, brewing methods, and pairing suggestions to enhance their appreciation of the craft.
- Handle cash transactions, process payments, and manage POS systems with accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor and restock supplies, including coffee beans, syrups, milk, and pastries, while minimizing waste.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on industry trends, new equipment, and advanced barista techniques.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a barista in a high-volume or specialty café environment.
- Expertise in operating professional espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment.
- Deep knowledge of coffee varieties, roasting profiles, and brewing methods (e.g., V60, AeroPress, siphon).
- Exceptional customer service skills with a natural ability to build rapport and anticipate guest needs.
- Strong attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure during peak hours.
- Fluency in English; additional languages (e.g., Indonesian, Mandarin) are a plus.
- Certification in barista training (e.g., SCA, local equivalents) or willingness to obtain one.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
