Responsibility
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to standardized recipes and special orders, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of the kitchen station, including ingredient prep, equipment sanitation, and workspace organization.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain efficient workflow during peak service hours, prioritizing speed without compromising quality.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, and communicate restocking needs to the kitchen manager.
- Adhere to strict food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards to ensure a clean and compliant kitchen environment.
- Contribute creative ideas for menu development, seasonal specials, and customer favorites while aligning with Mary Grace Cafeâs brand identity.
- Assist in training new kitchen staff on recipes, techniques, and safety protocols to uphold our service standards.
- Handle multiple orders simultaneously with a positive attitude, even in high-pressure situations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or in a similar role within a restaurant, cafe, or hotel kitchen.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, knife skills, and basic cooking techniques (e.g., sautĂŠing, grilling, baking).
- Ability to read, understand, and follow recipes and portion guidelines accurately.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20-25 kg, and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Passion for Filipino, Asian, or international cuisine is a plus.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Indonesian (Bahasa) is beneficial but not required.
