Responsibility
- Perform comprehensive eye exams, including refraction, binocular vision, and ocular health assessments.
- Diagnose and manage vision conditions (e.g., myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia) and common eye diseases (e.g., dry eye, glaucoma).
- Prescribe and fit corrective lenses, including specialized contact lenses (e.g., scleral, multifocal, or ortho-k).
- Provide personalized patient education on eye health, preventive care, and treatment options.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and healthcare teams for referrals and co-management of complex cases.
- Operate and maintain state-of-the-art optical equipment (e.g., autorefractors, tonometers, retinal cameras).
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in optometry.
- Ensure compliance with local and international optical standards and patient safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Doctorate in Optometry from an accredited institution.
- Valid optometry license (preferably with experience in Singapore/SEA markets or willingness to obtain local certification).
- Minimum 2+ years of clinical experience in optometry, with expertise in refractive error correction and ocular disease detection.
- Proficiency in English (additional fluency in Indonesian or Mandarin is a plus).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with diverse patients.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and optical practice management software.
- Knowledge of luxury eyewear brands and high-end patient service standards (advantageous for resort/clinic settings).
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development in optometry.
