Responsibility
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction, binocular vision testing, and ocular health assessments using advanced equipment.
- Diagnose and manage common eye conditions such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia, and dry eye syndrome.
- Prescribe and fit corrective lenses, including specialty contact lenses (e.g., toric, multifocal, or scleral lenses) tailored to patient needs.
- Perform pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing procedures like LASIK or cataract surgery.
- Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and proper lens hygiene to promote long-term vision wellness.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and healthcare professionals to co-manage complex cases, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory standards.
- Stay updated on emerging optometric technologies and treatments through continuous professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Doctorate degree in Optometry from an accredited institution.
- Valid optometry license (local or international, with eligibility for Indonesian registration).
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a retail, hospital, or private practice setting.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment such as phoropters, slit lamps, and fundus cameras.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with diverse patient groups.
- Ability to interpret and analyze visual acuity tests, tonometry results, and retinal images.
- Familiarity with EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems and practice management software.
- Commitment to ethical practice, patient confidentiality, and continuous learning in optometry.
