Responsibility
- Supervise and audit physician, facility, and out-of-pocket billing processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Identify billing discrepancies, errors, or inconsistencies and implement corrective actions to prevent revenue loss.
- Develop and enforce quality control standards for billing operations, including claim submissions and reimbursement tracking.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., finance, clinical staff) to resolve billing disputes and improve workflow efficiency.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as claim denial rates, turnaround times, and reimbursement accuracy.
- Train and mentor billing staff on best practices, software tools, and regulatory updates (e.g., ICD-10, CPT coding).
- Prepare detailed reports on billing performance, trends, and areas for improvement for senior management.
- Stay updated on industry changes, including insurance policies, government regulations, and healthcare billing software.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CPC, CPB, or CMBS) are a plus.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hospital/medical billing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of physician billing, facility billing, and out-of-pocket billing processes.
- Proficiency in billing software (e.g., Epic, Meditech, or Cerner) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex billing data and identify trends.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage teams and liaise with stakeholders.
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, CMS guidelines).
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with a stable internet connection.
