Responsibility
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students’ occupational therapy needs, including fine/gross motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with evidence-based practices and IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals.
- Provide direct therapy services in school settings, including classroom-based interventions, one-on-one sessions, and group activities.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to integrate therapeutic strategies into daily routines and educational curricula.
- Monitor and document student progress using standardized tools, progress notes, and outcome measures to ensure measurable improvements.
- Educate school staff and families on adaptive techniques, assistive technologies, and environmental modifications to support student success.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional insights to develop holistic support plans for students with diverse needs.
- Stay current with best practices in pediatric occupational therapy through continuous professional development and research.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Valid license or registration as an Occupational Therapist (preferably with experience in pediatric or school-based settings).
- Minimum 2+ years of clinical experience in occupational therapy, with a focus on children or adolescents.
- Strong knowledge of sensory integration, motor development, and ADL interventions for school-aged populations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, families, and educators.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
- Familiarity with IEP processes, goal-setting, and progress tracking in educational settings.
