Responsibility
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, and other mechanical systems in commercial properties.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure compliance with local and international safety standards (e.g., NFPA, ASHRAE).
- Develop and implement energy-efficient solutions to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures, diagnose root causes, and coordinate corrective actions with minimal downtime.
- Manage vendor contracts for specialized services (e.g., chiller maintenance, elevator servicing) and ensure SLA adherence.
- Prepare technical reports, maintenance logs, and budget proposals for mechanical system upgrades.
- Lead emergency response protocols for mechanical failures, including fire safety and flood prevention systems.
- Collaborate with architects and contractors on renovation projects to ensure mechanical system compatibility and code compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer (PME) is required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical system maintenance for commercial or retail properties.
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC, BMS (Building Management Systems), plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals; familiarity with CAD software is a plus.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal) for stakeholder coordination.
- Certifications in energy efficiency (e.g., LEED, Green Building) or safety (e.g., OSHA) are advantageous.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call duties for emergencies.
