In this role, you will bridge the gap between carbohydrate synthesis and high-performance polymer application. You will lead a multidisciplinary team tasked with developing next-generation bio-based materials, utilizing cutting-edge rheological analysis to ensure these materials meet the rigorous demands of modern manufacturing. Responsibility

  • Lead end-to-end research projects focused on the synthesis and modification of natural polymers and carbohydrates.
  • Conduct advanced rheological characterization to optimize polymer melt flow and solid-state mechanical properties.
  • Design and execute laboratory-scale experiments to transition lab-bench chemistry to pilot-scale production.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate bio-based additives into existing polymer matrices.
  • Analyze complex data sets to drive material performance improvements and sustainability benchmarking.
  • Manage laboratory equipment, safety protocols, and cross-functional project documentation.
  • Mentor junior researchers and provide technical guidance on sustainable chemistry best practices.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of post-doctoral or industrial experience in polymer synthesis and rheology.
  • Expertise in carbohydrate chemistry and bio-based material development.
  • Proven proficiency with advanced rheometry (DSR, ARES) and material characterization (DSC, TGA, FTIR).
  • Strong track record of peer-reviewed publications or patents in sustainable materials.
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience in statistical software for experimental design (DoE).
  • Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to work effectively in a high-compliance industrial environment.
