Responsibility
- Lead and execute a major MS SQL Server database migration project, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
- Design, implement, and maintain high-availability SQL Server environments (clustering, replication, Always On).
- Monitor database performance, optimize queries, and troubleshoot bottlenecks to ensure peak efficiency.
- Develop and enforce database security policies, including user access control, encryption, and compliance with industry standards (GDPR, ISO 27001).
- Automate routine DBA tasks (backups, patching, indexing) using PowerShell, T-SQL, or third-party tools.
- Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior DBAs, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Document database architectures, procedures, and disaster recovery plans for knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as an MS SQL Database Administrator, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
- Proven expertise in SQL Server 2016/2019/2022, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with database migration projects (on-prem to cloud, version upgrades, or consolidation).
- Strong knowledge of high-availability solutions (Always On, Failover Clustering, Log Shipping).
- Proficiency in T-SQL, PowerShell, and automation tools (e.g., Redgate, ApexSQL, or native SQL Server tools).
- Familiarity with cloud database platforms (Azure SQL, AWS RDS) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, MCSE: Data Management and Analytics) are highly desirable.
