As a Landscape Estimator, you will be responsible for interpreting complex project specifications, calculating material and labor costs, and preparing competitive bids that ensure both profitability and project success. You will work closely with our global project managers and field teams to ensure that every quote reflects the highest standards of accuracy and quality. Responsibility
- Analyze landscape architectural drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to determine scope of work.
- Calculate accurate material, equipment, and labor costs for various landscape projects.
- Prepare comprehensive and professional tender documents and bid proposals for Australian clients.
- Maintain a database of current material pricing and subcontractor rates to ensure estimates remain competitive.
- Conduct site visits or virtual assessments to evaluate project complexities and potential risks.
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, and vendors to refine estimates and ensure project feasibility.
- Regularly review actual project costs versus estimated costs to identify areas for improvement in future quoting.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Landscape Estimator or similar role in the construction or landscaping industry.
- Proficiency in takeoff software (e.g., Bluebeam, Planswift, or specialized landscaping software).
- Strong understanding of Australian landscaping standards, materials, and construction methodologies.
- Excellent numerical skills with high attention to detail and ability to interpret technical documentation.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with global clients.
- Ability to manage multiple project estimates simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
- Relevant certification or degree in Horticulture, Construction Management, or a related field is highly preferred.
