Responsibility
- Monitor and analyze network traffic for security threats and vulnerabilities using tools like SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network security devices, including firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection systems.
- Respond to and investigate security incidents, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with IT teams to design, implement, and maintain secure network architectures and policies.
- Perform regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks.
- Develop and update network security documentation, including incident reports, policies, and procedures.
- Provide technical support and guidance to L1 teams and end-users on security-related issues.
- Stay updated on emerging threats, security trends, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement of security measures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in network security, IT security, or a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet), IDS/IPS, and VPN technologies.
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other networking protocols.
- Proficiency in security tools like Wireshark, Nessus, Splunk, or similar.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, or CCNP Security are highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
