Responsibility
- Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, including food preparation stations, cooking equipment, and storage spaces.
- Wash, dry, and properly store all dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools using industrial dishwashing equipment or by hand.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, including proper waste disposal and recycling practices.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations before and after service periods.
- Monitor and restock kitchen supplies, such as dishwashing detergents, cleaning agents, and paper products.
- Support the culinary team by preparing ingredients, such as peeling vegetables or portioning items, as needed.
- Inspect kitchen equipment for functionality and report any maintenance issues to the supervisor.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain an organized and efficient workflow during peak service times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Steward, Dishwasher, or in a similar role within the hospitality industry is preferred.
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices (knowledge of HACCP is a plus).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness and order.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and equipment is advantageous.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
