Responsibility
- Assist chefs with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste.
- Support the team in setting up and breaking down kitchen stations before and after service.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment and tools are properly cleaned and stored.
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, checking for quality and freshness.
- Follow all food safety and hygiene standards to comply with health regulations.
- Help with basic cooking tasks under the supervision of the head chef or sous chef.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment by communicating effectively with the team.
Qualifications
- No formal education required, but a passion for cooking and the culinary arts is a must.
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail, especially regarding hygiene and food safety.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges in a professional kitchen.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
