Responsibility
- Assist chefs and kitchen staff in preparing ingredients, including washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning food items.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment by washing dishes, utensils, and equipment, and ensuring workstations are sanitized.
- Support the kitchen team in setting up and breaking down kitchen stations before and after service.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards, including proper storage of ingredients and compliance with health regulations.
- Assist in receiving and storing kitchen supplies, ensuring inventory is well-organized and stock levels are maintained.
- Help with basic food preparation tasks, such as assembling simple dishes or garnishing plates under supervision.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure timely and efficient service during peak hours.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the kitchen supervisor.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment (prior experience as a Kitchen Helper or similar role is a plus).
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a willingness to take direction from senior kitchen staff.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects (up to 15 kg).
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a passion for the hospitality industry.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well under pressure.
