Responsibility
- Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.
- Assist in the daily operation of the kitchen, including food preparation, plating, and timely delivery of dishes to service areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen environment in compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and efficient service during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, and report shortages or discrepancies to the kitchen supervisor.
- Adhere to portion control guidelines to minimize waste and optimize cost efficiency.
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation of stock (FIFO) and accurate labeling.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance kitchen operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a kitchen or food preparation role, preferably in a hospitality or restaurant setting.
- Basic knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and hygiene practices (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects (up to 15 kg), and work in high-temperature environments.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required by the business.
- Basic proficiency in English is a plus, but not mandatory.
