Responsibility
- Assist the lead teacher in preparing kitchen stations, ingredients, and tools for hands-on culinary lessons.
- Guide students through basic food preparation tasks (e.g., washing, peeling, measuring) under teacher supervision.
- Enforce food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handwashing, utensil sanitation, and workspace cleanup.
- Monitor student participation to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Help maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and report shortages or equipment needs to the teacher.
- Assist in post-lesson cleanup, including dishwashing, surface disinfection, and proper storage of tools.
- Support students with special needs or varying skill levels with patience and adaptability.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt lesson plans for practical, age-appropriate activities.
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; certification in food safety (e.g., HACCP) is a plus.
- Prior experience in education, childcare, or hospitality (e.g., kitchen assistant, catering, or teaching aide).
- Strong understanding of basic food hygiene and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students and staff.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for working with teenagers in a learning environment.
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and work collaboratively in a team.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and assist with setup/cleanup tasks.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Indonesian (Bahasa) is beneficial but not required.
