Responsibility
- Prepare and lodge SMSF annual financial statements and tax returns in compliance with ATO regulations.
- Assist in the establishment and wind-up of SMSFs, including trust deed preparation and member registrations.
- Conduct audit support by ensuring all SMSF documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Manage contribution and pension payments, including minimum pension calculations and reporting.
- Provide client advisory services on SMSF compliance, investment strategies, and tax optimization.
- Collaborate with senior accountants to resolve technical SMSF issues and implement best practices.
- Maintain accurate records and reconcile SMSF transactions using accounting software.
- Stay updated on legislative changes affecting SMSFs and communicate updates to the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent qualification).
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in accounting, with exposure to SMSFs being a plus.
- Strong understanding of Australian taxation laws and superannuation regulations (or willingness to learn).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, Class Super) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and team members.
- Certification or progress toward CPA/CA qualification is highly regarded.
