Railway Assets Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic project team in Kuala Lumpur. As a Junior Quantity Surveyor, you will support senior team members in monitoring project costs, preparing progress claims, and ensuring that all contractual requirements are met within budgetary constraints. Responsibility
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budget forecasts, and bills of quantities for ongoing and upcoming railway projects.
- Support the senior team in managing project procurement processes and supplier/sub-contractor tendering.
- Regularly update project cost reports and ensure that all financial data is accurately documented.
- Monitor site progress and assist in the preparation of monthly progress claims and progress reports.
- Conduct site visits to verify material quantities and work completion status against project schedules.
- Assist in the administration of construction contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and project-specific terms.
- Maintain effective communication with project managers, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve cost-related issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Fresh graduates or professionals with 1-2 years of relevant experience in the construction or infrastructure sector are encouraged to apply.
- Strong understanding of standard measurement methods (SMM) and building contracts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and familiarity with project management or estimating software.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet tight project deadlines.
- Strong commitment to professional development and continuous learning within the construction industry.
