Responsibility
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the Malaysia region in compliance with local and international standards.
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Support tax compliance activities, including GST/VAT filings, withholding tax, and corporate tax submissions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to drive business decisions.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic planning and cost optimization.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate financial risks.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key financial metrics and performance indicators.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes in accounting and tax laws to ensure compliance and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or tax functions (internships or entry-level roles acceptable).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Xero) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas).
- Strong understanding of financial statements, tax regulations, and compliance requirements in Malaysia or Southeast Asia.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal); proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is a plus.
- Certifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or CPA (or working toward them) are highly desirable.
