Responsibility
- Provide second-level technical support to BIR users nationwide, resolving escalated IT issues related to tax systems and applications.
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize server infrastructure, networks, and databases to ensure 99.9% uptime for critical government services.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems for end-users, including remote troubleshooting.
- Implement and enforce security protocols, patches, and updates to protect sensitive data and comply with government regulations.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to deploy system updates, test new features, and document technical processes.
- Generate detailed reports on system performance, incidents, and resolutions for stakeholders and management.
- Configure and manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in alignment with organizational policies.
- Stay updated on emerging IT trends and recommend improvements to enhance system efficiency and user experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a System Administrator, IT Support Specialist, or similar role, preferably in government or enterprise environments.
- Proficient in Windows/Linux server administration, Active Directory, and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, Ping, Traceroute).
- Experience with database management (SQL, MySQL) and backup/recovery procedures.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and incident management best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills (written and verbal English).
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision and adapt to shifting priorities.
