As an IP Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in filing, prosecuting, and managing IP cases with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines and other regional authorities. Your expertise will ensure that clients’ innovations, trademarks, and creative works are securely protected under local and international laws.

Based in Bali’s dynamic business hub, you’ll collaborate with a diverse team of legal professionals, leveraging your analytical skills and attention to detail to navigate complex IP landscapes. Whether you’re drafting applications, conducting prior art searches, or advising clients on IP strategies, your work will have a direct impact on safeguarding intellectual assets in a rapidly evolving market.

If you’re passionate about intellectual property law and eager to grow in a multicultural, fast-paced environment, this role offers the perfect blend of professional challenge and tropical work-life balance.

Responsibility

  • Prepare, file, and prosecute trademark, patent, and copyright applications with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines and other relevant authorities.
  • Conduct comprehensive IP searches and provide legal opinions on registrability, infringement risks, and freedom-to-operate analyses.
  • Manage and monitor IP portfolios for clients, ensuring timely renewals, maintenance, and compliance with local and international regulations.
  • Draft and review IP-related agreements, including licensing, assignment, and non-disclosure contracts.
  • Advise clients on IP enforcement strategies, including opposition proceedings, cancellations, and litigation support.
  • Stay updated on changes in IP laws and regulations in the Philippines and Southeast Asia, and communicate relevant updates to the team and clients.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and external counsel to develop and execute IP protection strategies tailored to client needs.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior staff and clients on IP best practices and procedural requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Intellectual Property, or a related field; a Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in IP law, with a focus on filing, prosecution, and portfolio management in the Philippines or Southeast Asia.
  • In-depth knowledge of Philippine IP laws, WIPO treaties, and international IP frameworks.
  • Proven ability to draft and review legal documents, including IP applications, contracts, and legal opinions.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Filipino or other Southeast Asian languages is a plus.
  • Familiarity with IP management software and databases (e.g., WIPO Global Brand Database, IPOPHL e-services).
