Responsibility
- Process incoming patient referrals and verify all necessary documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Enter and update patient data in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system with precision and timeliness.
- Prepare and organize patient charts, ensuring all information is current and accessible for healthcare providers.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient records in compliance with HIPAA and local data protection regulations.
- Coordinate with medical staff to clarify or obtain missing patient information as needed.
- Generate and distribute reports or summaries of intake activities for administrative review.
- Assist with scheduling patient appointments and follow-ups when required.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors, addressing inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Medical Office Management, or related field is a plus.
- Proven experience (1+ years) in a clerical, administrative, or healthcare setting, preferably as an Intake Clerk or Medical Receptionist.
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-volume environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and basic coding (ICD-10, CPT) is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
