In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to navigate complex indirect tax landscapes, including VAT, GST, and other transactional taxes across multiple jurisdictions. Responsibility
- Manage and ensure compliance with indirect tax obligations (VAT, GST, etc.) across multiple jurisdictions.
- Prepare and review indirect tax filings, returns, and payments accurately and on time.
- Collaborate with finance, legal, and product teams to assess tax implications of new business initiatives.
- Monitor legislative changes and advise on their impact on Wise’s operations.
- Develop and implement tax-efficient processes to streamline compliance and reporting.
- Conduct tax audits and resolve discrepancies with tax authorities.
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on indirect tax matters.
- Support global expansion by ensuring tax compliance in new markets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in indirect tax, preferably in fintech, financial services, or a multinational corporation.
- Deep understanding of VAT, GST, and other transactional tax systems in APAC and/or global markets.
- Experience with tax compliance software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
