Responsibility
- Provide expert wine recommendations and pairing advice to guests based on their preferences and dining selections.
- Curate and maintain an extensive wine list that reflects the latest trends and regional specialties.
- Conduct wine tastings and educational sessions for guests and staff to enhance their knowledge and appreciation of wines.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop wine pairing menus that complement the chef's creations.
- Ensure the proper storage, handling, and serving of wines to maintain their quality and integrity.
- Manage inventory levels, place orders, and monitor wine stock to ensure availability and minimize waste.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new wine releases, and emerging wine regions to continuously enhance the wine program.
- Provide exceptional customer service, anticipating guest needs and exceeding their expectations.
Qualifications
- Certification from a recognized sommelier program (e.g., Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET).
- Proven experience as a Wine Sommelier in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting.
- Extensive knowledge of wine regions, grape varieties, and wine-making processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with guests and staff.
- Strong organizational skills to manage inventory, orders, and wine service efficiently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Passion for hospitality and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
