As a Cable Jointer, you will perform specialized jointing, termination, and maintenance of underground and overhead power cables, adhering to strict safety and technical standards. Responsibility
- Perform high-voltage cable jointing, splicing, and termination for power distribution networks.
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on cable systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and repair faults in underground and overhead power cables using specialized tools and equipment.
- Install and commission new cable systems in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to plan and execute cable laying and jointing projects.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including test results, repairs, and installations.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols, including PPE usage and lockout/tagout procedures, to prevent accidents.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and apprentices.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cable Jointer or in a similar role within the power distribution sector.
- Certification in high-voltage cable jointing (e.g., LV/MV/HV) from a recognized institution.
- Proficient in using cable jointing tools, hydraulic crimpers, and testing equipment (e.g., megohmmeters, hipots).
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards (e.g., OSHA, IEC, or local regulations).
- Physical fitness to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy cables and working in confined spaces.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various project sites across Bali.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
