Responsibility
- Prepare and cook traditional Malaysian dishes with authenticity and precision, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
- Develop and refine heritage-inspired menus, incorporating local Bali ingredients where applicable.
- Collaborate with the beverage team to create perfect food and coffee pairings for an elevated dining experience.
- Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene, food safety, and compliance with health regulations.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control costs to optimize kitchen operations.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and teamwork.
- Monitor customer feedback and adjust recipes or service styles to enhance satisfaction.
- Participate in promotional events, pop-ups, or culinary workshops to showcase heritage cuisine.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a chef, preferably specializing in Malaysian or Southeast Asian cuisine.
- Strong knowledge of traditional cooking techniques, spices, and flavor profiles in Malaysian heritage dishes.
- Proven ability to manage a kitchen team, delegate tasks, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent palate and creativity to innovate while staying true to authentic recipes.
- Familiarity with food safety standards, HACCP, and local health regulations.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia or Malay is a plus.
- Passion for coffee culture and an understanding of how food complements specialty brews.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
