Responsibility

  • Prepare and cook traditional Malaysian dishes with authenticity and precision, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.

  • Collaborate with the beverage team to create perfect food and coffee pairings for an elevated dining experience.
  • Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene, food safety, and compliance with health regulations.
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and control costs to optimize kitchen operations.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and teamwork.
  • Monitor customer feedback and adjust recipes or service styles to enhance satisfaction.
  • Participate in promotional events, pop-ups, or culinary workshops to showcase heritage cuisine.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a chef, preferably specializing in Malaysian or Southeast Asian cuisine.
  • Strong knowledge of traditional cooking techniques, spices, and flavor profiles in Malaysian heritage dishes.
  • Proven ability to manage a kitchen team, delegate tasks, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent palate and creativity to innovate while staying true to authentic recipes.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards, HACCP, and local health regulations.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia or Malay is a plus.
