Responsibility
- Perform routine inspections and diagnostic tests on heavy equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues.
- Repair and replace faulty components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure equipment longevity and reduce breakdowns.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Use specialized tools and diagnostic software to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems.
- Collaborate with team members to prioritize repair tasks and ensure timely completion.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and industry standards during repairs and maintenance.
- Provide recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements when necessary.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or in a similar role, with a strong background in repairing heavy machinery.
- Certification or vocational training in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment repair, or a related field.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, welding equipment, and other specialized machinery.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems in heavy equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate heavy equipment for testing purposes (a plus).
