Responsibility
- API Strategy & Governance: Define and enforce enterprise-wide API design standards, best practices, and governance frameworks to ensure consistency, scalability, and security.
- Architectural Leadership: Lead the development of RESTful, GraphQL, and event-driven APIs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical roadmaps.
- Team Mentorship: Guide and mentor cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-performance, maintainable, and well-documented API solutions.
- Integration & Interoperability: Oversee the integration of APIs with third-party systems, legacy applications, and microservices to enable seamless data flow.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor, analyze, and optimize API performance, latency, and reliability to meet SLAs and business demands.
- Security & Compliance: Implement robust security protocols (OAuth, JWT, API gateways) and ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with product, business, and IT leaders to translate requirements into technical specifications and API roadmaps.
- Innovation & R&D: Research and adopt emerging technologies (e.g., serverless, AI-driven APIs) to future-proof our digital infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Proven Experience: 8+ years in software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role focused on API design, integration, or enterprise architecture.
- Technical Expertise: Deep hands-on experience with API technologies (REST, GraphQL, gRPC), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and DevOps practices (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Programming Proficiency: Strong command of languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, or Go, with a focus on backend and API development.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and scale high-performing engineering teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with a track record of designing scalable solutions for complex integration challenges.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written English skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with food manufacturing, supply chain, or ERP systems is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
