Responsibility
- Policy Development & Scaling: Design and implement global trust and safety policies, ensuring alignment with regional regulations and TikTok’s community standards.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with legal, product, and operations teams to integrate policy frameworks into platform features and workflows.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify and address emerging risks (e.g., misinformation, harassment, child safety) through proactive policy and process improvements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Represent TikTok in discussions with governments, NGOs, and industry groups to advocate for responsible platform governance.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage analytics and user insights to measure policy effectiveness and iterate on scaling strategies.
- Team Growth: Mentor and expand a high-performing policy team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and global collaboration.
- Crisis Management: Lead rapid-response initiatives for high-visibility trust and safety incidents, ensuring swift and transparent resolutions.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to local and international laws (e.g., GDPR, COPPA) while balancing user experience and platform growth.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in trust and safety, policy, legal, or compliance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role at a global tech company or regulatory body.
- Deep expertise in content moderation, platform governance, or digital risk management, with a track record of scaling policies across multiple markets.
- Proven ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes (e.g., EU DSA, US COPPA) and collaborate with external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data to inform policy decisions and measure impact.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, capable of influencing senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Experience building and leading high-performing, geographically distributed teams in fast-paced environments.
- Passion for user safety, free expression, and ethical technology, with a commitment to balancing these priorities.
- Fluency in English (required); additional languages (e.g., Mandarin, Indonesian) are a plus.
