Responsibility
- Lead and mentor a team of chefs and kitchen staff to deliver high-quality Chinese cuisine with consistency and creativity.
- Develop and refine seasonal menus that blend traditional recipes with modern, locally inspired twists.
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards in all kitchen operations.
- Collaborate with the management team to align culinary offerings with the social entertainment experience, enhancing guest engagement.
- Source and manage premium ingredients, prioritizing sustainability and ethical suppliers where possible.
- Optimize kitchen workflows to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain cost control without compromising quality.
- Train and upskill staff in authentic Chinese cooking techniques, including wok skills, dim sum preparation, and regional specialties.
- Monitor industry trends and guest feedback to continuously innovate and elevate the dining experience.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef, with a focus on Chinese cuisine in high-volume or luxury settings.
- Proven expertise in Northern, Southern, Sichuan, or Cantonese culinary traditions, with a portfolio of signature dishes.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop talent in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); proficiency in Mandarin or other Chinese dialects is a plus.
- Deep knowledge of food cost management, inventory control, and P&L in a restaurant setting.
- Certification in food safety and hygiene (e.g., HACCP, ServSafe) is required.
- Creative mindset with a passion for menu innovation and staying ahead of culinary trends.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet operational demands.
