Responsibility
- Administer and maintain Linux and Unix-based systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Monitor system health, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions to prevent downtime.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Collaborate with development and security teams to deploy, configure, and secure applications and services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and compliance.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements and innovations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Linux/Unix System Administrator or Operations Engineer.
- Strong proficiency in Linux distributions (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) and Unix-based systems.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl for automation and task scheduling.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
