Responsibility
- Lead and coordinate fire suppression operations during emergencies, ensuring the safety of personnel and the public.
- Conduct fire safety inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial properties to ensure compliance with local and national regulations.
- Develop and implement fire prevention programs and public education initiatives to raise awareness about fire safety.
- Respond to emergency calls, including fires, medical emergencies, and natural disasters, providing timely and effective assistance.
- Investigate the causes of fires and prepare detailed reports for legal and administrative purposes.
- Train and supervise junior fire officers and volunteers, ensuring they are prepared for emergency response situations.
- Collaborate with local government agencies, law enforcement, and community organizations to enhance public safety initiatives.
- Maintain and inspect fire department equipment, vehicles, and facilities to ensure operational readiness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, Public Safety, Emergency Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fire suppression, emergency response, or a related role.
- Certification as a Fire Officer or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., NFPA, IFSAC, or local certification).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams during high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with the public, government officials, and team members.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform demanding tasks in emergency situations.
- Knowledge of fire safety regulations, building codes, and emergency response protocols.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to respond to emergencies at any time.
