Responsibility
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of seed production fields, ensuring optimal growing conditions.
- Monitor crop health, growth stages, and environmental factors, reporting any issues to the agronomy team.
- Support field trials by collecting data, recording observations, and assisting in experimental setups.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of field activities, including planting, irrigation, and pest control measures.
- Assist in the harvesting, cleaning, and packaging of seeds according to company standards.
- Operate and maintain basic agricultural equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of field tasks and adherence to production schedules.
- Follow all safety protocols and environmental guidelines to promote sustainable farming practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in farming, seed production, or agricultural fieldwork is preferred but not required.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail to monitor crop health and field conditions.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of agricultural practices, pest control, and irrigation methods.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies in seed production.
