Responsibility
- Supervise and coordinate the design, installation, and maintenance of farm infrastructure, equipment, and systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to minimize equipment downtime and extend asset lifespan.
- Lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
- Conduct regular inspections of swine facilities to identify maintenance needs and prioritize repair or replacement tasks.
- Collaborate with farm managers and engineering teams to plan and execute capital improvement projects.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and biosecurity regulations in maintenance operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inventory of spare parts, and budget tracking.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to avoid disruptions in farm operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in farm maintenance, preferably in swine or livestock operations.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing a maintenance team.
- Strong technical knowledge of farm equipment, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and structural maintenance.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools for planning and tracking.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with OSHA, biosecurity protocols, and industry-specific safety standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
