Responsibility
- Oversee the daily operations of data center infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) components.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure maximum uptime and reliability of critical systems.
- Conduct capacity planning and scalability assessments to support future growth and technological advancements.
- Manage relationships with colocation (COLO) vendors, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met and issues are resolved promptly.
- Monitor and analyze infrastructure performance metrics, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts during system failures or outages, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to restore services quickly.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including safety, environmental, and operational best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff and cross-functional teams on data center operations and maintenance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Certification in facilities management or data center operations is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management, with a focus on data center infrastructure or critical environments.
- Strong knowledge of power distribution systems, cooling technologies, UPS, generators, and MEP systems.
- Proven experience in vendor management, including negotiating contracts and ensuring SLA compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with data center industry standards (e.g., Uptime Institute, TIA-942, ISO 27001).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call duties, to support 24/7 data center operations.
