Responsibility
- Curate and manage the restaurant's wine cellar, ensuring optimal storage conditions and inventory accuracy.
- Provide expert wine recommendations to guests, pairing selections with our premium steak and fine dining menu.
- Conduct wine tastings and presentations for guests, enhancing their dining experience with your knowledge and passion.
- Collaborate with the sommelier and kitchen team to develop wine lists that complement seasonal menus and guest preferences.
- Ensure seamless wine service, including proper decanting, glassware selection, and presentation standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global wine trends, regions, and varietals to provide informed recommendations.
- Train and mentor junior staff on wine service protocols, customer engagement, and upselling techniques.
- Monitor and manage wine inventory, including ordering, receiving, and organizing stock to meet demand.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Wine Butler, Sommelier, or similar role in a luxury hospitality or fine dining environment.
- Certification from a recognized wine institution (e.g., WSET, CMS) is highly desirable.
- Deep knowledge of wine regions, varietals, and food pairings, with a passion for continuous learning.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage guests from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring flawless wine service and inventory management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining professionalism and composure.
- Fluency in English; additional languages (e.g., Indonesian, Mandarin, Japanese) are a plus.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's schedule.
